Roderick C. White![]() Roderick C. White earned his Juris Doctorate (Law Degree) at the University of Houston Law Center. While a law student, Mr. White was awarded a fellowship to work at one of the most prestigious capital defense post-conviction law firms in the nation, the Texas Defender Service. Mr. White was also a law clerk at the Houston branch of the NAACP and two other private personal injury law firms. In addition, Mr. White has a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Houston where he was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistant Fellowship. While a sociology graduate student Mr. White's thesis and research emphasis was in the sociology of law. Mr. White earned his bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he repeatedly earned the honors of being placed on the Dean's List and elected to the Student Senate. Mr. White was born in the small west Texas town of Sweetwater however, he was raised a short distance away in Big Spring, Texas where he was a stand-out high school basketball player earning an athletic scholarship. Mr. White is also a veteran of the United States Army where he served in South Korea and at Fort Hood, Texas. He was awarded an Army Commendation Medal and two Army Achievement Medals. Because Mr. White is licensed by the State Bar of Texas he is eligible to practice in all Texas state courts. A substantial portion of Mr. White’s practice is also conducted in various federal courts around the nation. While Mr. White has the ability to handle federal court matters around the country, he has been formally admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the following Federal District Courts: • Northern District of Texas Mr. White is currently a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, The Dallas Bar Association (DBA), the Tort and Insurance Practices section of the DBA, the Trial Skills section of the DBA, the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association (ABA), the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice section of the ABA, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. |
